Flood Cleanup & Restoration in South Florida

Flood and storm water cleanup across South Florida, 24/7.

Storm surge, a canal over its banks, or eight inches of rain in an afternoon with nowhere to drain. Flood water is not clean water, and how fast it comes out decides what you keep.

How It Works

Flood Water Is Contaminated Water

Water that has come in from outside has been across ground, through drains and past whatever was in its path, which puts it in a different category from a burst supply line. It has to be treated as contaminated, and the porous material it soaked into is usually not salvageable however good it looks once dry. The clock matters more here than anywhere: in this heat and humidity, microbial growth starts within a day or two, not a week.

Book the Free Inspection

Water inspections are free and done in person. Call the same number to book one.

Pricing

What Flood Cleanup Costs

Restoration is not priced until someone has seen the damage: how far the water went, what it soaked into, and what has to come out. That is why the first step is a free in-person inspection.

Many water, fire and mold losses go through homeowners insurance. Photograph the damage before anything is moved, call your insurer, and keep receipts for anything you have to replace.

Before You Book

Flood Cleanup, Step by Step

What flood water does, what happens after you call, and what to do before the crew gets there.

Signs It Needs a Professional

  • Water came in from outside: storm surge, a canal or street flooding
  • Water touched drywall, insulation or carpet pad
  • Water stood in the house for more than a few hours
  • Sewage or storm drain smell
  • Damage in more than one room

What Happens After You Call

  • Someone sees the damage in person, free
  • Standing water is extracted
  • Wet materials are dealt with and the home is dried out

Before the Crew Arrives

  • Stay out of standing water; it can carry sewage and be live with electricity
  • Shut off power to flooded areas only if you can reach the panel dry
  • Photograph every room before anything is moved
  • Call your flood insurer as well as your homeowners insurer

Flooding in South Florida

Why flood water is handled differently from a burst pipe.

Storm Surge and Street Flooding

Water from outside comes in carrying whatever it crossed: sewage, chemicals, soil. The industry standard treats seawater flooding and rising water as contaminated, and anything porous it soaks usually has to come out.

Flood Insurance Is Separate

Most homeowners policies do not cover flood damage. That takes a separate flood policy, and a new one usually takes 30 days to start, so check yours before the season.

Rainy Season

South Florida's wet season runs from May 15 to October 15, and heavy afternoon storms can overwhelm drainage quickly. Keep gutters and yard drains clear and know where your water main and electrical panel are.

After the Water Goes Down

Photograph every room, call your flood insurer and your homeowners insurer, and keep wet areas ventilated. Growth can start within a day or two, so book the free inspection quickly; see mold remediation.

A Homeowner's Guide to Flood Cleanup

Safety, what has to come out, and the insurance side.

Safety Before Anything Else

Do not walk through standing water if the power might be on, and keep the electrical panel off for flooded areas if you can reach it dry. Flood water can carry sewage and chemicals, so wear boots and gloves, and wash anything that touched it.

What Usually Has to Come Out

Seawater flooding and rising water from outside are treated as contaminated, so porous materials they soaked usually cannot be dried and kept: carpet pad, insulation, the bottom of drywall, and particleboard cabinets. Tile, solid wood and many hard surfaces can usually be cleaned and dried.

Drying Fast

The longer materials stay wet, the more has to be removed and the more likely mold becomes. Extraction gets standing water out; drying the structure takes longer. Book the free inspection as soon as the water is down.

Flood Insurance

Flood from outside water is usually covered by a separate flood policy, not homeowners insurance. Call both insurers, photograph every room before anything is moved, and keep damaged items until the adjuster has seen them.

Questions About Flood Restoration

Anything else? Call (888) 700-4894 and the office will answer it.

Yes, significantly. Water from outside is contaminated, so the health considerations and what can be salvaged are both different from a clean supply line break.

Usually not, when it is flood water from outside. The pad almost never can. Contaminated water soaks into both, and drying them out does not remove what the water carried in.

Immediately. In South Florida heat and humidity microbial growth can begin within 24 to 48 hours, so the response window is short.

Yes. The emergency line, (888) 700-4894, is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, storm season included.

Usually not. Most homeowners policies do not cover flood damage; that takes a separate flood policy. Call both insurers and photograph the damage first.

Seawater flooding and rising water are treated as contaminated, so carpet and pad they soaked are usually removed. The inspection will tell you what can stay.

Safety first: keep power off in flooded areas, wear boots and gloves, and stay out of standing water. Photograph everything, remove standing water, take out wet porous materials such as carpet pad and soaked drywall, and dry the structure quickly. Mold can start within a day or two.

It depends on how much water came in and what it soaked. Extraction is the fast part; drying the structure takes days. The free inspection gives you a realistic timeline for your home.

Water damage restoration, or water mitigation for the first stage of extraction and drying. See [water damage restoration](water-damage-restoration).

South Florida homes rarely have basements, so flooding here sits on the slab and soaks flooring, drywall and cabinets instead. It is priced after a free in-person inspection.
